Is there a function to query a time server and compare that to the HAOS system time? I would like ti query my own NTP server as well as an internet time source.

My NUC System time was off by a couple of minutes and HA wouldn't sync it with a Host error of Server has too large root distance. Disconnecting.

I rebooted in to bios and set it but would like to know before the skew was more than 10 or 15 seconds.

After a reboot the time is within a few seconds but the logs still show:
hass systemd-timesyncd[87148]: Server has too large root distance. Disconnecting.

The chrony add-on is an easy way to configure that
