SOLVED - Google Nest Integration

I have purchased the Google Device Access Console API for $5. I have followed the instructions on the Home Assistant Google Nest Integration page. I followed them to the "T" (many many times)

My issue is when I am attempting to create the device access project.

I make it through all the steps:
Device Access Console Project Name
OAuth client ID
'Enable' Events/Pub/Sub
Click Create Project.

At this point, i get the message "The project could not be created", and I am back on the "Welcome to Device Access console" screen where I only have the option to create a project.

I watched the video that walks through this as well. I have paid very close attention to detail, ensuring that I am using the proper OAuth Client ID.

I have been through the process at least 10 times. I cannot figure out where the issue is. Are there some logs that might shed some light on it, or any "gotchas" that may not have been pointed out or metnioned in the docs/video?

I have been searching around and this issue seems to be at the mercy of Google. Does anyone have a working Nest integration right now?

@sterile rover I found this article.

Id say log out of everything. Completly restart the process. Removing any authenticators from HA as well (in the intergrations home page in settings, top right three dot menu gives you the application credits, remove the one you did for nest)

Also, further down the line, make sure you add your nest account email to the test users page. That snagged me up for a while

Yep. I have done so many complete eradications. Ever never really progresses in the HA side of things, so not much to eradicate there, since the integration never gets to the LINK TO GOOGLE part.
I found that SO post earlier. Not much resolve there. Just basically saying there is an issue. DO you happen to have the integration working by chance?

Yeah just have to keep trying bud. Googles API just makes it overly complicated

For some reason my existing Nest integration is having issues authenticating today. Anyone know if google is having issues?

No amount of deleting and re-adding worked for me either. I kept trying to enable anyways and then randomly it worked this evening. Such a PITA.

Sure did. Frustrating as hell. I'd created the project with Pub/Sub disabled and then just checked back a couple of times a day trying to Enable it - and it finally happened.

!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just tried again and it worked this time! OMG. I almost have tears. Not sure if its joy or relief.

OK...going back to finish up the rest. hopefully this part goes smoothly.

Once i try to link it to my Google account (of course making sure its the Google Dev account with the API blah blah), i get this error:

The top portion may not be relevant, but does indicate that some potential changes were made. Same as with the Oauth consent screen. Google has a notification that it was going to be changing very soon. I wonder if its one of those things that i need to come back in another week to try again. or just try throughout the day until the stars align

...it was a clue.. HA saves google nest credentials.

on the integrations page there are three dots away at the top-right. you need to go there and reset the credentials(remove them)

All done!

Removing the credentials allowed me to put the fresh ones (i had eradicated all the previous goodle cloud projects and creds, so those needed to be blown out manually.
