#suggestions for value speaker for voice PE

I am trying to move family from amazon device to voice PE (bit of a slow process but getting there) the quality of the speaker is something that has been commented on. does anyone have any suggestions for a good value single speaker to use with it. obvious needs 3.5mm line in. ideally small/usb-c powered/doesnt have to be amazing but good for tts/light music use. i dont need a super expensivve speak with a million features that cost loads. just something basic thats not too shit.

what are others using etc...

are there any limitations to how large this can be? would be a set of two speakers (non individual) also fine?

ideally i would just want a single speaker. i wont get away with 2 speakers

if you only want tts, any pc speaker should work. they come in pairs, with amplifier usually only in one. so use the one with the amp. you only need to find the audio quality, max volume and price combo.

if you also want music duty you will want a bluetooth speaker that also has line in i guess. use bluetooth for the music. or one with wifi and dlna or chromecast sipport so you can cast from your media server. lots of nice ones out there but most seem to have removed the line in 😦

want to do some light music duty. doesnt have to be great. not audiophile level just some background kitchen music on occasion. was thinking there is probably a dumb and jack only version of the singgle bluetooth speaker style things. theres no need to spend a shit load on something with multiple wireless connection options that does loads of stuff.
maybe just getting a basic speaker and getting a small amp to pair with it is the play

i would assume your best bet is to have a look for a small soundbar type one for pcs

a lot of the cheap "normal" ones dont have dedicated inputs for each speaker so you cant really just use one of them without snipping wires

i am not against messing with electronics and rewiring if i have to. was just wondering if there was something i have missed. was thinking it might be a dont know what i dont know situation. but maybe ill have to go for something with a bit more work

im not seeing an obvious product to buy for this. stuff usually is either too large, has batteries or is not really reasonable to buy

yeah thats kind of where i ended up. figured i would ask and see. theres always a chance someone went "oh you mean this thing" but looks like its not one of those times

external speaker for a conference phone could be something. at least it should be quite opimized for voice. but then there is no extra input for music

a bluetooth speaker which also has a line in / aux would work fine. They can usually be powered by usb and come in all shapes, sizes , colours and budgets. I use one for testing
