#What HASS server

I've moved my HASS from RPI to MINI S, but I'm not very satisfied with this hardware.

First it has problems, when I'm trying to get it connected via WLAN. Yes I know, it should be connected via LAN, but for the best location WLAN would be better. I could connect it once, but then I changed my router, which now supports 5Ghz and since that time, Wifi does not work. In the logs I get some errors I cannot interpret and I read, that MINI S has problems with the driver.

Next I figured out, that after a power down, the MINI S doesn't start automatically, I have to switch it on manually. I think, this is a no go.

Are there any suggestions or a MINI S-like PC to put HASS on without theses restrictions?

I'm curious - why does the location of your HA server matter? it's accessed entirely over the network, so you should be able to find somewhere hidden away where you can attach an ethernet cable.

that said, reports I can find say that the Beelink Mini S should have an option available in the bios to automatically power on. It might be in the Chipset menu, called "State after G3" in some BIOS versions; set it to S0 to power on, vs. S5 to power off.

I was going to say...check BIOS for power on behavior options. They won't be anywhere else

I would recommend getting off wifi if you can, but depending which wifi card yours came with, switching it out with an intel AX200 or AX210 card might improve the stability and functionality.

the main reason the beelink mini s gets recommended is that it's really cheap for new hardware. If you want get something nicer in similar form factor, consider looking into refurbished "USFF" office PCs from established vendors. Other than that, I'd say that the next step up is some sort of home server (e.g. running a NAS os) where you run HAOS virtualized - but that's getting even further away from your goal of running on wifi.
