I'm trying to set up notifications for my leak sensor project. I haven't been able to get the highest importance notifications to override the ringer settings on my phone (pixel 9 xl).
The documentation for Android critical notifications says to use TTL:0 and priority: high, and to override the ringer mode to use channel: alarm_stream.
This does not override my phone's ringer settings. It does use the alarm channel, and I get an alarm tone, but it's regulated by the ringer volume. Using alarm_stream_max has the same behavior.
I have also used importance: high, since thats what newer versions of Android might use per some documentation, instead of priority, but nothing appeared to change.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong or do Pixels not allow for overriding the ringer settings?
