#Home Assistant Preview Edition is not doing anything after picking up my wake word.

Good morning all,

I hope you’re all well. I purchased the Home Assistant PE day one and while I have had some success - especially with the cloud - I’ve now run into an issue I cannot get around.

When I say ‘Hey Jarvis’ it does indeed hear me but it will not listen to what I say next regardless of how it is configured, e.g HA Cloud, local etc. I have removed and re-added it to my HA instance. The device is on the latest version - 25.1.0 - and, the my home assistant instant is on the latest as well - 2025.01.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine has stopped working this morning too, multiple instances of this in log - INFO Successfully connected to home-assistant-voice-0920b9 @ 192.168.1.182 in 3.354s

Hmm I'm on all latest and both of mine seem fine 🤷

I’ll have a look into how I can do that, sorry for the delay in reply! I have reset it too but with no luck.

To add, even after the reset, home assistant can see the device and when the device replies with the noise to indicate it has heard you the media player goes from idle to playing and back again but that’s all.

Could try factory reset, what's it's removed from home Assistant, and restart home assistant to make sure anything stuck is cleared. Or i guess try restarting home Assistant as a first step

I’ve tried the reset and I’ve restarted home assistant unfortunately but thank you for the advice all the same! Not sure I’m the only one with this issue so I’ll keep an eye out.

if you press the center button and issue a command without wakeword, does anything happen?

this sounds like either your pipeline is not running or the 2nd mic that is used for STT is not functioning. If you watch the ESPHome logs which you can do by connecting the VPE to your computer with the USB cable and visit https://web.esphome.io connect to the device, click on logs and then at the bottom click to reset the device. Once the logs start displaying, issue the wakeword and your command, watch the logs to see if it is recognising speech or if it shows any errors etc. Also check HA>>settings>>system>>logs to see if there are any related errors
