#Fully resetting Home Assistant Voice (Preview Edition) after accidental "take control" in ESPHome

Hey all,

I received my Home Assistant Voice (Preview Edition) today. I've been struggling to connect it to my Home Assistant.

While following https://voice-pe.home-assistant.io/getting-started/, step 6 instead told me to enter the IP of my "ESPHome Node". Given I run the Home Assistant container, not the full supervised version, I misunderstood this as it wanting to have ESPHome set up (like how you need Mosquitto to have MQTT working). So I set up the ESPHome container and, when that still didn't work, I "took control" in ESPHome.

I realize now I did wrong steps, and I would like updates inside Home Assistant as per https://voice-pe.home-assistant.io/guides/update/. So I decided I want to try again and factory reset it as per https://voice-pe.home-assistant.io/guides/reset/.

The reset seems to start: as in, I hear it confirm to release the button to start the reset, but afterwards I hear nothing. No reset confirmation or anything, and it stays connected to my Wi-Fi, which makes me think it's possibly resetting to the ESPHome config with the Wi-Fi set up in it instead of being a proper clean factory reset?

How can I properly factory reset it, start over as if I just got it out of the box?

There we go! Reset, bluetooth flow, giving it my Wi-Fi credentials and (after setting a static IP) giving that static IP to the ESPHome integration in Home Assistant makes the flow start ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks a lot ๐Ÿ™‚
