#HA Green - USB ports, chunky USB adapters(RTL-SDR), and Flash memory endurance

I'm new to HA Green, but not tech.

USB Ports:
Stacked USB - OK, can live with that, but it seems way to close to the power port on the green to accept "chunky" USB adapters like the RTL-SDRv4. I'd really like to plug in RTL-SDR's without relocating that power port barrel. Solder, hot glue, Dremel, etc.

I looked up Green's power. 2A shared between ports so I think the RTL-SDR is OK there... but longer term, I'd rather not use a silly USB extension cable - or a hub? re: more power for a hub, more moving parts, contacts, etc.

USB Port extender cables: Yay or nay for adapters that won't fit?

Flash Memory endurance/TBW/DWPD: 32gb eMMC seems fine... but is there any insight into the TBW of the drive? Does anyone have one and does the flash present SMART stats? Or is this just a non-issue? - Because even though there is a ton of log data in HA, it's still pretty small compared to media files, etc.

I'm thinking like 10 years of use, with 50 to 100 devices/sensors/etc. I really don't know what makes the HA software use disk space other than historical data and configs. Are there any packages/plugins that "blow up" the disk and use way more space? re: Capture video segments when a button is pressed or something from a RTSP stream?

Obviously, I'm eyeing a RasPi5 8gb, but after case and power, It's creeping towards $120 before taxes and shipping, sd card, etc.

I realize Green is only $100, just trying to understand what to expect.

Future: I doubt I'd add a Zigbee adapter directly to the Green, if anything probably a Zigbee 3.0 PoE "stick" as I've seen them... so I don't need THAT much USB... or change my mind?

Extension cables are actually recommended for radios like zigbee to prevent interference. I imagine it's a good idea for others too.
You can see eMMC life stats in the Hardware section. You could try to install mmc-utils and try to read it with the mmc command.
Addons and backups can take a lot of space. All the things necessarily to run HAOS need storage too.
If you want something cheap with normal storage buy a used tower or SFF PC on eBbay.
