Hey all, I have some Minisplit air conditioning units that I am trying to make Smart. The user manuals mention that they should already have WiFi, but when I tried hooking it up it didn’t ever connect. And when I looked at the boards, there doesn’t appear to be a WiFi module. I was wondering , based on these images, if ESP Home with some 8266s would likely be an option. Anyone know of good resources to study? The ones I’ve found have been a bit too advanced for me. Thanks!

If the user manuals mention a wifi option, and you don't know where to put an ESP chip, then I suggest finding the actual WIFI module option that is probably available for this and having someone install that for you.
You are showing the pictures of wires carrying mains wiring, and that is scaring me. That's not where an ESP chip gets connected.
