#Voice PE - can you use 3.5mm audio output for music provider but built in speaker for voice?

I've connected the Voice PE to some external speakers via the 3.5mm audio output jack which is great for playing music. However the speakers aren't always powered on (I only want to turn them on when I wish to play some music) so I'd like to configure it so that the voice functionality always uses the built-in speaker. Is this possible or does plugging in a cable force it to send all audio out through that cable in hardware?

This hardware does not. The hardware changes output to the 3.5mm and turns off the internal speaker.

It’s possible that this switch will be done in software in the future hardware iterations, but for now it is not.
