I want to have a pipe, not with water, with a flap I can switch with esphome and a switch. I plan to build a pipe where we can throw in dirty clothes and the flap should switch for example for white clothes and others.
Any idea how to solve that and what hardware is needed? I have esp32 here would need the switch an something to move the flap.

By what I think you mean, you would have a servo outside the tube that would control how much/if the flap opens
and that is connected to the esp32
and I think a transmission switch to control it? (with a physical button)
or you could control it via wifi

not even anything special just a normal switch so that the servo doesn't receive power

Yes, a servo could work. Any recommendations what should work with esphome for that?
