When running with Docker, how do I get devices to appear in Homebridge?

I'm having trouble understanding how Homebridge works.

I have some devices already set up in Home Assistant but I want to add them to my Homekit app so I can control them from my phone.

How do I go about doing this? I've set up the docker container following this guide and I can access the web ui, however none of my devices are there.

Any ideas how any of this works?

Just use the HomeKit device integration in HA. You don't need homebridge
