the 3.5mm hole in the casing can snag some 3.5mm plugs if they have too thick plastic surrounding the jack. this can cause the metal part of the jack to not fully connect inside the socket. This can be rectified by increasing the size of the hole in the casing
or using a cable with slimmer jack plug surround

You're right, after I opened the PE shell and inserted it, it worked very well. I think the 3.5mm jack should be moved outward by 2mm. Keep it in the same plane as the shell. Just a suggestion.
Perhaps adjustments need to be made to the already publicly available 3D printing files to prevent incomplete insertion.
