#FP2 Integration into HA

I have an FP2. I purchased upon a recommendation. However, I have no apple devices. I can't seem to get the FP2 to work in the Aqara app, nor is HA finding it. The FP2 is in pairing mode, but the app can't seem to connect to it. My wifi does 2.4. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

You need to use the HomeKit integration

#

And bring it in as a HomeKit device

According to Step 2 of these directions https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/homekit I need to open the Apple home app. As I have said earlier, I have no apple device at all. Is there any other way to get this to work?

Home Assistant

Instructions on how to set up the HomeKit Bridge integration in Home Assistant.

You can add it directly to home assistant with the HomeKit device integration

Yes, no apple device needed, just added one myself. If it's not found in the aqara app it's not likely a HA issue

#

Are your phone on the correct wifi? 2,4?

azure zinc
#

I have both 5 and 2.4Ghz (same SSID). I was just thinking that because the phone is on the 5Ghz band, it isn't finding the 2.4. I think I need to turn off my 5Ghz and try it again.

#

Thanks for the clarification that I don't need an apple device. I will set up my wirelss to be 2.4Ghz and try again. I will let you know the result

The FP2 gets all the way to the Binding phase and then times out. I quite litereally since I have got it spent over a day in time trying to get this thing to work properly - it only happened once. HA wouldn't find it so I deleted it from the app and have never successfully got it to connect ever again

azure zinc
#

I reset the the device. Now the yellow light blinks really fast about 5-10 times fast, pauses and repeats. The app never sees the device

azure zinc
#

Ok. I got it the FP2 working in the Aqara app. I have it configured, but it is still not being detected by Home Assistant. Sorry for all the questions. All my devices have been picked up by Home Assistant with out much work. The FP2 seems to be a bit more troublesome, at least for me.

I tried unplugging the device (once it was once it was configured in the Aqara App) to see if Home Assistant would pick it up. It doesn't. I tried pinging it from a different device on the network and I could ping it, so it is visible. Home Assistant just doesn't seem to see it.

earnest storm

is the device fully updated in the aqara app?

azure zinc
#

Do you mean firmware?

earnest storm
#

Yes

azure zinc
#

Firmware is up-to-date.

Is there a way to turn off automatic discovery in Home Assistant? I tried to add a bluecharm beacon and it didn't find it. I did several months ago and it added it. I later deleted it. I want to re-add it and home assistant isn't finding it.

#

I am wondering if for some reason, the discovery has been turned off

earnest storm
#

It might be a disabled integration. Go to the integrations page and check the filters to see if it’s hiding disabled integrations.

You do use the HomeKit device integration

azure zinc
#

Ok. I did install it, but every time I reboot Home Assistant, I get a HomeKit Pairing message with a QR code and a pin. It says it wants me to scan the QR Code in the Home App. I assume that is the Apple app. Am I correct?

earnest storm
#

You should have a QR code I the fp2

#

That’s what you need to enter

warped grove
#

Yeah, its on the actual device (hardware). On the hinge.

azure zinc
#

Maybe I am stupid, but when I look at the notification my camera doesn't come up to scan the code on the FP2. To be clear, I am seeing this in the notifications:

#

There is a pin code and a QR code (not showing it for obvious reasons). There is a Dismiss link as well. There is no indication that it found the FP2 at all.

#

I tried clicking on Add Entry in the HomeKit integration, but all that does is show existing devices

#

I am very confused

#

I tried to configure it using the CONFIGURE "button" but again, it only allows me to display what currently have:

#

When I click Submit, I get the following:

#

That is just a list of existing devices/entiies and the FP2 is not there

earnest storm
#

You need to select accessory not bridge

azure zinc
#

Ok, here is is

#

After I hit submit:

#

Again. wants to add an entity I already have

warped grove
#

Is this not the wrong homekit integration (server)? You should get a dialog to enter a 8-digit code wich is found next to the qr code on your device.

azure zinc
#

Is there another HomeKit integration?

azure zinc
#

Do I need to use HomeKit Device?

warped grove
#

Yes, as Ender stated here twice.

azure zinc
#

Thanks much

#

Ok. All my devices are imported into HomeKit, but I still have the same problem. I try to add a HomeKit device and it tells me there are no individuated devices

warped grove
#

It sounds like you are still using the wrong integration.

azure zinc
#

I am using the correct integration:

#

when I click on "ADD ENTRY" I get the following:

earnest storm
#

Pull the power from the fp2, power it back up and try again.
