Saw here (https://community.home-assistant.io/t/installing-self-signed-paa-certificates-resolved/773483) that there was a few issues with the matter server not picking up the paa certs, and just wondered if that's fixed or not, tried placing a custom cert in the root of it, and had no luck with it getting picked up by the matter-server

That is not really supported - just use the standard dev certificates and enable test DCL

wtf is that for a practice ? They can not even use testnet PAA certificates ? I would leave such products alone tbh. That is just smelly practices.

Yeah, but problem is that the certs are loaded at startup so its not so easy to load additional certificates before the startup of the stack. test-net dcl was invented just for this. I see exactly zero reason why they would not use that other than maybe bypass matter certification or csa altogether.
Even for DIY hobbyists you can use the standard test certificates btw

oh dont get me wrong, i fully agree with that sentiment, just that i feel like they only really developed their products using very few ecosystems, and its come to bite them on the ass now some actual users are receiving them
