Hey guys,
I have a sungrow inverter that has all sorts of issues trying to get data from. Currently using MickMakes add on.
I have managed to find daily electricity purchased off the add on, can I use that for the grid consumption or does that result need to be a live data feed?
Im having the same issue with grid return, i have a daily total of returned power, does it have to be live data?
I also have a current household solar feed in usage but that doesnt seem to be needed anywhere?

The energy dashboard needs an energy total (it can reset to zero if it is a daily or monthly one)
If you have a power feed, you can use an integral helper to turn that into energy, which the energy dashboard can use.
If your add on only gives you a single update per day, I wouldn't recommend using it - it's better than nothing, but results in the dashboard not knowing when that power was consumed so just assigning it to whenever the update happened which will look weird

It does reset at midnight, though its just a total increasing value. It seems like HA Energy needs a current usage value not a daily increasing value?

I assume it does the calculations in the backend to show the current usage, sell back etc?
