I'm looking for a relatively cheap little control panel that I can drive from HA to show some information in my house and also to be able to turn on/off soome things. SONOFF generally seems to work well with HA. Is this device any good? I mean this device:

Thanks

They are apparently working on being able to display home assistant dashboards directly on screen (without having to flash android into it which I've seen some people do) - so I'm waiting for that before purchasing

Ok, so currently they don't work out of the box then. Good to know

#

Are there alternatives?

Yeah currently you have to make your own nspanel dashboard and have that talk to home assistant to trigger stuff, workable but not the most elegant option

Think there are a few around but none looked that exciting

the original NSpanel with physical buttons as pictured above work really well if re-flashed using ESPHome and using blackymas blueprint. Very reliable and stable, but does require flashing with a usb to uart adapter. https://github.com/Blackymas/NSPanel_HA_Blueprint. The Pro version is the one mentioned above that can/will have the ability to to display dashboards direct.

Hmm. I was reading that before but I don't see any mention anywhere of it requiring flashing?

#

ah nm, it does

I just did the regular NSpanel, the one with physical buttons as pictured above, used Blackymas guide and blueprint, it was relatively seamless, you do need to physically flash it the first time. After that you are good to go OTA w/esphome. And it looks great. Lots of options, info displays etc.
