Just now starting to migrate from BlueIris to Frigate. Some context, I have 14 cameras (About 75% running H.265) with 8 exterior cameras. I am running a USB Coral.
A few questions -
1: I want to keep detect on, so that the dashboard (I've got a few dedicated screens for viewing cameras around the house) so that interior movement is displayed. However, I don't want events to be triggered by interior cameras when we're home. I'm able to toggle detection through NodeRed, but motion can only be turned off unless detection is too (Per MQTT documentation). Is there a recommended path to achieve this? Should I just leave the mainstream on the dashboard permanently instead?
2: If a camera has zones, does the root camera still detect outside of zones?
3: There's varying threads/posts on the web (Some years old) about H.265. I'm primarily using Safari on Mac/iOS, which seems to natively support H.265. Is there a recommended method for H.265 these days?
4: Is duplicating and restreaming a camera really the only way to rotate a cam? Does this incur a performance penalty?
5: Is it preferred to restream cameras or to use the rtsp: passthrough streaming with go2rtc?
