#Adjusting Voice PE volume with voice?

How can I adjust the volume on the voice PE using voice?

I've tried saying "Set the living room home assistant voice media player volume to 50%" (the name of the media_player entity for the voice) and also just "Set the volume to 50%.", but both result in "sorry, no device is playing".

Think the volume controls only work when media is playing on the device
