#Z-wave multicast for all on/off?

In short: Has anyone gotten zwave multicast to work?

In long: I have 7 lights controlled by various zooz zwave switches. 2 on/off(scene controller, 2 dimmers, and 3 dual switches(dimmer). I have tried various attempts to get all the lights to turn on/off at the same time using an all on and all off scene button in the controller. All of them cycle through all the lights over several seconds. I have tried grouping the lights together, I have tried a scene, I have tried a script to do it in parallel.

I contacted zooz (great company and support emailed me in less than 30 min)and they said it’s not possible but maybe direct association can get me close. I didn’t try this yet as it does not sound like it will do what I am looking for.

I have been reading on ways to do “scenes” (like I did with Insteon) or “groups” (like I hear you can do with Zigbee) using just the zwave network and it led me to multicast. I have not gotten any of the scripts I have found to work but there appears to be a multicast option that lets you send a command without verification to multiple devices at the same time. I have mostly seen post in various locations of people trying to help ethers who are struggling to get it to work.

To me this is such a basic thing I have always done that I am rethinking using zwave/zooz for the rest of my home.

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.
