New device inclusion, starts working after long delay?

Had a curiousity about including some devices.

I often have the experience in core Zwave integration that I'll pair a new device, and it will succesfully pair as just a generic node and it has no controls, but all the pairing steps show with the green checkmark.

I will then try reinterviewing several times, and every time the reinterview seems like a success, but nothing changes on the device, still just seems to be broken and missing key entities (like cover controls for a blind)

Then I'll walk away for 10 minutes, and when I come back somehow miraculously everything seems to be working correctly (it now has proper controls).

What could be happening here in the background that makes a non-working device spontaneously start working, that a re-interview was not solving?

I've noticed sometimes that the integration is missing some controls for new devices until I reload the device page.
Maybe the discovery process in HA is a bit slow at times?
