Good Day. While I have been using HA for some time, I am still very new to the various automation opportunities. An opportunity presented itself just the other day: I had a light switch fail and did not notice until I tried to turn on the lights....and guess what - they did not come on. Switch failed. When I checked my HA...sure enough, the switch was dead. So, having watched too many scifi shows, and having a device battery low automation (based on a blueprint I found in the HA community) it dawned on me, why do I not have a similar automation that checks the various switches and plugs I have? But, in searching the HA community, one did not present itself, which seemed odd to me. This natural self-checking feature would alert the user of equipment failure (switches and plugs in this case.). Can someone point me in the direction of a blueprint or something similar that I could implement within my HA system to check and alert me to a failed switch or plug? Thanks in advance for all help.
