#Trying to change Sonoff sensor report settings

I have a Sonoff temperature/humidity sensor. When I was using ZHA the refresh of the data was very fast. Not sure if it was realtime but it felt like it. Now I changed to zigbee2mqtt and the refresh rate seems EXTREMELY slow. I tried changing the values here:

But if I press 'Toepassen' (which basically translate to 'apply') nothing happens. The value is reset to default. How can I increase the rate at which this sensor refreshes? Thanks

Additionally these buttons don't seem to do anything:

#

For example humidity keeps the value it measured 2 hours ago

Did you wake the sensor before changing the settings or pushing the refresh button?

#

End devices spend their life in deep sleep, only waking to send an update

What do you mean?

#

When changing from ZHA to MQTT I bound the device again so it was found

Exactly what I wrote 😛 End devices, sensors, aren't listening for messages.

But other then that I didn't so anything

They're asleep, to save battery

So why did it refresh constantly with ZHA?

chilly sparrow
#

Because you're confusing two unrelated things

trim tundra
#

Also what's the point of this then? If I can only get readings of several hours ago

#

Sensors can send data all they want

#

They do that regardless of ZHA or Z2M

#

Sensors can't be polled, can't have their settings changed, unless they're awake

trim tundra
#

Ok, so they I don't understand why the behaviour changed

#

With ZHA I got much faster refresh of data from within my dashboard

#

The update rate is 100% controlled by the sensors, not ZHA or Z2M

#

The most you can do is change the reporting options, that's it

#

And most sensors don't even support that

trim tundra
#

Well I'm only observing what I'm seeing

#

The value was changing every few minutes with ZHA

#

Now it has been 3 hours

#

If you want to change the settings, or use the refresh button, you have to wake the sensor first

#

Do that by tapping the pairing button

trim tundra
#

Ok, let me try that

It'll go back to sleep within 10 to 30 seconds at most
