Ikea Styrbar - long press button
The styrbar is designed to send commands directly to lights via bindings. It's not configurable. The way it works with home assistant is that HA is basically pretending to be a light, and then making up events that approximate the button presses you made based on which commands it received.
Ok thank you. So i need to find other remote.
If you're ok with just two buttons, the Ikea somrig scene controller is designed to send commands to a hub, and has proper separate single, double, and long press+release events.
Ikea Rodret same. Once again thank you! 👍
I'd expect the rodret to behave the same as the styrbar, but i don't have one to compare
No, Rodret works better than Styrbar. In Rodret long press is after 1 sec., in Styrbar after 3 sec. (too long). And in Styrbar long press arrow button also send same command as single click on on button. So Styrbar is not so good to use with HA.
Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this topic but maybe you can answer me. I'm using Ikea Styrbar button with TRADAFRI power supple. I can pair it and this is working. The problem is when i try to add Ikea Styrbar to Ziggbe2MQTT ... i can pair it with Home Asssistant but it is not working with Tradafri ... What is proper way to use it , may you help me here ? I was thinking that i can use Styrbar to controll LED and Home Assistant as well ( for example from phone ) Thanks a lot for answer
You must add your remote and device to Home Assistant. And next add automation - as trigger select button press and as action you set device action. Just adding to HA is not enough.
ok i got it thanks
