is it possible to play music on my assist device i have made a voice assistant using an Adafruit DAC, i2c microphone and an esp32. is it possible for it to play music also?

if it is configured as a media player , then yes you will be able to add the player to MA

if the mic is an inmp441 be sure to connect the L/R pin to gnd or vcc otherwise it will be floating 😉

what ESP board will you be using ? a standard esp32 or one of the variants , such as c3 or s3?

which is recommend? i thought of using standard esp32

esp32 S3 with PSRAM would be the best choice for this project and will give wiggle room for future development. a Standard ESP32 will work it is just not as powerful for media/voice etc and from experience the S3 is much better for only a small difference in cost
