I'm creating an automation so that my lights slowly turn on (over a minute or so) as my alarm goes off. I'm struggling to get the "slowly" part to work though. Currently I have an automation to turn on the lights immediately at 1% brightness, and then another action to set them to 100%, with a "transition" of 30 seconds, however the lights just immediately turn on to full when running the automation action... When just running the 1% action, the lights do come on to their dimmest. Any ideas?

Not all light devices support transition, and many that do limit them to a certain length. You will need to check your device's documentation.
