#Yale YRD226 - After stick upgrade. Offline occasionally. Ping brings it back
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
not really sure how to best diagnose an issue either. Just tried seeing its ability to reach the stick which didnt seem great.
THe water main is right next to the stick( controller)
any way to check if the stick is getting enough power? or something like that?
Ouf. What's the background RSSI of your stick?
-21 dBm margin sounds like there is an elevated noise level near the stick
Also just to be sure, have you seen and followd this?
https://zwave-js.github.io/node-zwave-js/#/troubleshooting/first-steps
Z-Wave driver written entirely in JavaScript/TypeScript
does this show the background RSSA
No, you click the controller "star" in the network map
14k RX seems like you have a shitton of reporting though
Which controller is that?
zooz800
Those numbers are way too high
should be around -100..-110

maybe ill try another usb extension cord
interesting. the lock is in s0 which i guess is not good.
I will also check the log to see how often devices are talking. Is watching here the correct place?
Shouldn't be too much of an issue if the mesh is healthy
ok. i reduced a traffic. wonder if that will help. dont think there was too much chatter before. but who knows. willing to try anything.
also a new usb extension cord seemed to help the background RSSI a little
Are you in the US? What are the powerlevel settings on that stick?
Still seems too high for an 800 series controller, I'd have expected those on 500 series.
Are you actually using the new stick? Which port is configured in the settings?
I am in the US. No power nor regional settings set:
I am using the new zooz800 stick. Old stick was pulled.
Uh try setting them
No wrong screen
Control panel, open the dropdown for the controller node
Looks ok
I'll Try verifying with mine later, but I'm 99% sure the background RSSI should be 20 dBm lower
could stick placement effect things? its at the top of a server rack on the outside. sitting up and on top like an antena on an old car
was here. all devices are above the antenna.
this is in a basment. so all devices up and out from the point of the antenna
I chnaged the device backdoor to direct. in set route. then hit ping. i got a reseponse . is there any way to verify it is now going direct to the stick?
That's a lot of space for Linux ISOs
Refresh the map after the ping and click the node. The LWR should be the direct connection if it worked
40kbps is not ideal, although it may get better signal than 100k
I believe that was just the default that was offered
Anyways, the closer you can get the stick to the devices, the better. The orientation may also have an influence. The radiation pattern is typically a donut shape for helix antennas
100k should be in the list
Ok moved the stick to more central location with a 30ft extension cable. Places temporarily to test. Looks much better
Do I set both priority and return route ?
Normally only the priority route is needed but it should not hurt to do both if the route actually works
I'd upgrade the priority route to 100k though
