#Updates stalling on iOS and iPadOS

First time I hear about that, next time try to press and hold and tap “prioritize download”
I have one stalled on iOS at this very moment, but have never seen this control. Where can I find it on iOS 18.2?
Press and hold the app icon
Sorry, too late on iPadOS. I can report that restaring the device clears the issue though 🙂
App installation is out of our control, it’s up to Apple so… difficult to say what so wrong
I know - that's also why I didn't report here when it was happening on the beta. But it's unique to Home Assistant app and repeating.
You are downloading from App Store right?
The app icon in your Home Screen
The HA app icon that shows the progress of the installation
That worked!
Weird note: the "prioritize download" option didn't appear until I moved the app out of a folder and directly onto the home screen. In fact, the app hadn't yet gone into the dim state that happens during installs until I did that.
It's like the app itself had no idea it was being updated.
Hahaha nice that it worked and so weird, iOS bug then
iPadOS too. And oddly specific to HA app updates. Between the two devices, I've had easily 50 app updates and this has affected HA 2-3 times and all other apps 0 times.
Exact same issue again today. 2024.12.2 hung on HA, every other app updating fine. "iOS bug" may be true, but the fact that it's affecting only one application and doing so every time does not auger well.
"Prioritize" still does work.
Perhaps report to Apple?
Added FB16120066 when it happened on iPadOS. Letting that one cook for ~1 hr worked. Some kind of internal timeout on the app? Holding a connection in background somewhere?
As soon as installation starts, the app is already killed, you can’t open it, you can’t trigger it.
Oddly, for the iPadOS attempt the progress showed 2/3 and I was still able to launch it. Home Assistant appeared unaware that it was being updated. It that state, of course there was no option to prioritize download either. This is different than iOS this morning, where it was a dimmed download icon and prioritization was available. That's why I'm wondering if it's holding some resource in the background.
