Does anyone have a good recommendation for an outdoor plant sensor?
Requirements:
- Battery operated
- Zigbee or Bluetooth
- Proper IP rating as it will be used outdoors
- Accurate sensor reading (ofcourse)

I have been using Flora sensors, the model number is HHCCJCY01
They are bluetooth, they work out of the box.
I combine that with the third party plant component: https://github.com/Olen/homeassistant-plant
And the Flower card: https://github.com/Olen/lovelace-flower-card/
And you need https://github.com/Olen/home-assistant-openplantbook too
Then combined it knows about the ideal conditions for your plants, and you can setup all kinds of things based on that openplantbook data.
They fit all of your requirements:
- Battery
- Bluetooth
- Waterproof
They are accurate enough for my uses.
They track:
- Conductivity
- Illuminance
- Moisture
- Temperature
Oh and I bought them on alliexpress, search for the model number HHCCJCY01 but there may be a better place you can get them in the EU (I'm Canadian)
