#800-series firmware: upgrade or not, when below 7.19?

Since you can't go back if you find that the situation is worse on the newer firmware, probably don't do anything.
Although people have reported that the latest version is pretty stable, I'd sit out a few more updates if everything is working for you right now.
That was my concern. I do have a node that I’m having trouble with (dropping off, hard to include), but I suspect firmware isn’t going to help anything.
Thing is, we also have conflicting info on how stable 7.18 is for people, hence the recommendation.
Might want to take a look at https://zwave-js.github.io/node-zwave-js/#/troubleshooting/first-steps

Yeah mostly.
can i ask what you decided in the end?
(i am on 7.19.3 never have issues, other than today where the container would start as it insisted the usb device wasn't present, hard reboot of the pi the controller is on fixed that)
I did end up upgrading, mostly because I don’t have any self-control when it comes to available upgrades. And I figured that, at some point, there will probably be improvements that I do want to upgrade for, so I might as well make the leap now to sort out any issues.
But I haven’t noticed any difference in bugs or performance or anything.
If you’re smart you’d probably leave it alone, which is exactly why I didn’t.
I've been on 1.50 on ZST39 with no issues since upgrading (when it came out about 6mo ago). Zooz did have one busted fw update previously.
FW: v1.50
SDK: v7.22.1
oh i am as dumb as two short planks and my OCD demands i alwasy do updatdes even when its against my self interest, rofl, thanks for replying!
I also upgraded mine a few days ago for similar reason (though I had nebulous problems with some new devices and convinced myself it was worth a try to see if it mattered). Mine soft-bricked trying to update OTW from zwavejs-ui. Putting it in bootloader only mode fixed it (though it wasn't obvious as it looked hung uploading, the logs showed it actually loaded). Very glad for that option, as the Zooz recommended Silicon Labs program I also tried (after the soft brick) did not work at all.
