#I have been running HA on my pi3 for years. Should I upgrade? And looking for NUC recommendations

I ask this question for 3 basic reasons:

  1. I see that the minimum requirements are now pi4b. Things are working but for how long?
  2. I currently run all my Zwave devices though SmartThings. I had that setup first and stuggled to setup my zwave devices in HA back then so I never changed it. I am considering migrating everything to HA. I have a prety basic setup. I have about 20 devices in my setup. Less than 10 automations. No cameras other than the Ring doorbell integration. So I was looking for hardware recommendations. Which leads to
  3. My budget is super tight. I was looking at pi5 kits and thought you can get a used NUC so much cheaper. How old of a NUC can I use? What would be the minimum to setup proxmox and VM HA? I see a ton under $50.
Should I just install a VM on my unRAID server and be done with it?

Thanks

Anything is better than a pi3 at this point, the performance has statically drifted to no longer being recommended.
An old PC or thin client, a VM, a beelink, anything is better.
