#Smartthings integration using internal ip address

i am trying setup the smartthings integration but it is using the internal URL (http://10.xxx.xxx.xxx:8123/api/webhook...) and not an external URL. I am using the nabu cloud for external access which i have tested and it is working with an SSL cert applied. so, i don't know what else needs to be changed for the smartthings integration to see that I have an external URL it should use.
