Read the title. I am wondering if it's better to use MQTT than the zwave integration. I have noticed that the zwave integration drops every once in a while. Is there any benefit to using one over the other?

Not a question of zigbee or zwave - more a question of "Should i use MQTT or not?"

Zigbee2MQTT forces you to use MQTT. But ZwaveJSUI doesn't. It's optional

You shouldn't use MQTT for ZwaveJSUI because it communicates natively over websockets and that's the preferred way. Zigbee2MQTT only communicates over MQTT, so you have to use it for that

MQTT is an additional service and "hop" for communications, so if you can go straight to HA, that's generally better. In practice, it doesn't really matter for functionality or perfomrnace
