Probably just need to delete it and make a new one. Changing the ID would break everything anyway.

Ok, can I create a new area > move all devices to new area > delete old area. and everything should be ok in terms of automations, scripts etc?
what do you need to change the area_id for anyways?
The name is the only thing in the UI
