I am starting to acquire more and more Aqara sensors that I integrate into HA. I am wondering if there is a benefit to getting their hub and then integrating the Hub into HA vs what I now do which is to integrate it directly into Zigbee. Wondering if it would increase reliability, give me more entities, etc. Thanks!

I'd 100% avoid the hub and keep on going direct with ZHA/Zigbee2MQTT

It won't make things more reliable, more likely the opposite

It may or may not give you more entities, but whether that matters depends on what they are - and it may give you less 😉

ah ok. I have the Hue Hub from back in the day and its integrted into HA and seems to work ok.

The Hub is, once integrated, at least local

#

Plus that integration has improved a lot from where it used to be - but I'd still go direct and ditch the hub
