One of the biggest downsides of using the companion app to change a light's settings (versus using e.g. the Hue app or even Apple's Home app) is that changing a light's setting is very choppy and jarring. One of the reasons for this is that there is no default transition period - so the light keeps instantaneously changing from one color to the next as you drag the slider, rather than giving off the illusion of a continuous input. I believe what the Hue app does here is set a very short transition time for every update, roughly equivalent to the polling rate of the UI input.
It would be awesome if you could implement this as well.
