I just installed a Govee light strip. I set up the Govee local integration but all I have is on/off control and nothing else. Is there any way to get color and brightness control?

Hi, I am not OP, but I have the exact same question and was pleased (and disappointed for what this bodes) to see this post. I just set up a new Govee light that supports LAN control (the basic floor lamp, model H6076), and added the official integration that you linked. It added my device, but the device only has one control (an on / off toggle). I googled a bit, but some stuff I see online suggests that there should be greater control. Through the app, I can control color, brightness, set scenes, address individual segments of the LED strip, and more ...

Update: I'm now wondering if this is an issue with the integration or with my understanding / expectations of how to control devices ... ? As I said above, I added a device and found that it didn't have all the controls I expected. However, when adding a light control for it to a dashboard, I can access all of the expected controls. (See below.) Is this a problem with the integration and/or HA, or am I just not understanding how controls should show up on a device page in HA?

The device page isn't a complete view of the capabilities

#

You have to visit each controllable entity to see what can be done, and even then the UI may not support everything you can do with actions

#

With a light service call you can set the light to a particular brightness and colour at the same time, and have it transition to those over time. You can't do that with the dashboard.

Thanks very much for the reply! Got it. I will update my issue on Github ...

Sorry, one more question for whoever - how would I know all of the capabilities of the device in question (or any device, for that matter)? They don't show up as controls, entities, or any other variable with which I am familiar in my admittedly limited HA experience. Is there a way to view all capabilities for a device (understanding that the Light entity class has many properties that are not supported by all devices)?

Generally the capabilities of an entity appear in attributes in that entity, such as supported_features flag or other supported* attributes.

#

That's what derives what controls the frontend will show for it.

Thanks for the quick reply! And (with apologies for yet another dumb question), where could I go (in the frontend or elsewhere) to view the capabilities of an entity?
