I'm hesitant to use TP-LINK tbh... I've had nothing but trouble with my TL-SG108E and that Hue Bridge

#

And I've found responses about using UniFi switches witrh the Hue Bridge and how to make them work, not so much TP-LINK

yeah by all means go with the unifi stuff. you will probably have a better experience with them to be honest. was just noting that with more basic requirements there are some cheaper options that work just fine

#

some of the cheaper tplink stuff is not great but if you get into the business ranges its pretty good value. and anything thats rackable is gunna be business targeted

looks to be around the same price for the TP-LINK vs the Unifi here (nevermind, Google results being silly, TP-LINK is about £25 cheaper)

ah for that little price differnce go for the unifi then

#

i got a deal on the tplink ages ago which is why i got it at the time

oh nvm, it's £55 difference

depends where you draw the line i guess. the ubiquiti stuff is good and it works well together if you have various devices from them. but for the basic requirement it depends how much you want to spend i guess

tbh, I think I'd rather pay more for something which has a lot of resources on how to make stuff work with it, especially the stuff I want to use

perfectly reasonable.
