Looking for a Zigbee waterproof or at least steam proof motion sensor for use in my shower. My bathroom lights turn on/off just fine but if I am in the shower, they turn off sometimes leaving me in the dark. I found the Renogy Motion Sensor online and am wondering if anyone has used these Zigbee devices successfully.

if any of the walls of your bathroom are drywall/plasterboard you can mount it on the outside and see through the wall without exposing the sensor to the environment in the bathroom

#

might also be nicer for powering it, as you are unlikely to find a decent sensor with mmwave that runs on battery

I had never heard of mmwave until this thread, its pretty incredible. Given how my smart home it setup, I won't have too many opporuntities for USB powered sensors so I'll have to figure something out.

why not? plenty of outlets have integrated usb power nowadays, it's an easy thing to swap in

it's not a low power tech, you'll be replacing batteries very often if you go that route
