#Yellow still the way to go?

The Yellow is an ok starter platform
If your setup remains small then it'll probably stay ok, though most of us would recommend a second hand small form factor PC or laptop as a better option at the same price point
It is for a small flat...instead of using an aqara m3 which would not allow to connect e.g. bulbs from innr
I would have a raspberry on spare but I find it hard to get a skyconnect stick lately here in Germany
You don't need to buy the SkyConnect 😉
Also, SD cards have a short lifespan, so we don't recommend a Pi on an SD card
Pi on an SSD is fine
Yeah, Pi&SSD but what is the recommendation for Thread/Zigbee then?
There's masses of good options for Zigbee coordinators, including those from Tube and SMLight - see the pins in #zigbee-archived
For Thread, buy another stick, or even better, buy a Thread Border Router
See the list there
The multi-protocol firmware is:
- Broken
- Abandoned
- See (1)
With or without the SkyConnect, you needed a second device/stick anyway
(and it's been broken for a long long time - but there's still people out there who push it as the solution)
