#Performance of Yellow vs Docker on decent hardware

Has anyone moved from HA running unmanaged in Docker on decent hardware, to the Yellow? I'm not expecting the Yellow to be comparable even with a CM5, but I wondered if anyone had moved that way and noticed any specific drawbacks/benefits, in terms of performance.

Yes, I moved from a HAOS virtual machine (KVM on Debian) to a Home Assistant Yellow.

I have round about 250 devices, 1500 entities, 40 helpers and 75 automations in Home Assistant.

I do not recognize any performance issues, but it has much less power consumption.

I wanted something independent from my KVM Host. I also like that the Yellow is powered via PoE.

Depends on how loaded your system was before, and what you do with it. For smaller setups a Yellow/Pi4 is fine. For larger systems or those that have a high load on the system (for example if you have a bunch of cameras) then you'd likely notice the drop.

I've heard compiling ESPHome on such devices is not much fun. Just an example. Better to have more resources than you need.
