I have been working to setup the Espressif Thread Border Router and am getting closer and closer. I have flashed it, got it on my network, the WebUI loads, and it formed its own thread network. However, within home assistant, I am not able to use this network or set it as preferred.

I am reading the guidance here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread

It seems like the guidance is specific to having a Nest or Apple Homepod Mini router; for example it requires my phone to send the credentials, but it does not let me specify credentials myself and my phone does not have the credentials of my Thread Border Router. I think one solve is sending credentials from my phone, and reflashing the ESP32 device with those credentials. But trying to avoid needing to reflash because that step gave me a ton of trouble.

deleted post bc my understanding is Espressif is based on OTBR.
You should see an option in the Thread integration dropdown menu called "Add an OpenThread border router"
