#Hostname Certificate Mismatch on Android
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
hostname mismatch sounds like a local dns issue
what could be causing that?
that i am not sure but its comign from the network
the app seds the request to the URL and we get an error message
these error messages can only be solved server side
it really depends on your own setup
but it works on the browser on my phone
this page offers some tips and guidance https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/troubleshooting/networking
browser on the phone does not use APIs that the app uses
the apps use all communication methods from the server
i did look at this and the only thing i found that could maybe solve my issue was the tls client auth section and i installed the cloudflare tunnel cert (i think) and it didnt seem to fix it
have you already tried restarting things like the host HA is on and your network etc... that sometimes fixes things for users
its on the raspberry pi and ive restared both the pi and my network a couple of times
The URL the app is configured for is the same as the URL you've used in the browser on the same device? And you're not seeing a security error when hitting https://yourdomain.com on your device?
Are you able to inspect the certificate
nope, it works on the browser on my phone, laptop, ipad and the ipad application, the only issue is in the phone application
on my laptop browser, yes
The URL the app is configured for is the same as the URL you've used in the browser on the same device?
Is the answer to this "yes"?
yes
Is the device running a modern version of Android?
i tried it with a different android device and it had the same issue
this might be right, i asked one of my friends to connect to it and they were able to connect to it without a problem, maybe ill mess around with my network settings to find a fix
check the DNS bits in the link above they may be of help
how do i do that?
i did a network reset on my old phone and that did not seem to fix it
