#Negative power???
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I had this bug as well, some of my energy sensors got messed up and produced negative results last month. I didn't have time to deal with it. It seems it somehow resolved itself in the meantime, current energy data is positive. However, some of my historical data is messed up.
you can fix the bad datapoints via developer-tools/statistics
I have several Sonoff smart plugs which report negative energy at midnight every night, which appears to be when they reset the base line to zero. As a result the energy for the day is completely incorrect for these devices. Is there any way of removing this reset value from the energy dashboard? (I am a new user with HA Green and have no idea bout Yaml coding)
try wrapping them in a utility meter
look under helpers
Thanks - I found Helpers and attempted to wrap one of the smart plugs in a utility meter, but as I haven't the faintest idea what I am doing, I am not sure what I have done. There is a red ! next to it under Helpers. I called the utility meter "test" and went back to the Energy dashboard to try to add it, but I couldn't find it in the dropdown. I have read the documentation about utility meters but I am none the wiser as I don't "speak the language". As I said, I am very new to this and I am having so many problems that I am beginning to think I have bitten off far more than I can chew.
Hello ! I have the same problem on my Energy dashboard, only since I migrate my devices from ZHA to Z2M. It seems the "unfollowed" negative energy appears just after a peak of "unfollowed" positive energy is reported, but I can't understand why. I wonder how I can be sure about which device is responisble for this.
Thanks for your help !
I also have a lot of errors like this :
error: zh:ezsp:ezsp: Frame changeSourceRouteHandler parsing error: RangeError: Attempt to access memory outside buffer bounds
Do you think it can be linked ?
this is my energy dashboard for today. Some of the negative numbers exactly mirror the Air conditioning (heating) use (green). The kettle smart plug resetting is the pink negative bar at 0.00.
do they happen to be SONOFF plugs?
yes, they are Sonoff plugs
This seems to have worked, thank you, I went to settings > devices & services > Helpers > create helper and scrolled down to utility meter. Then I chose the microwave and set it to no cycle, meter reset offset 0, periodic reset on. I saved it and it had a red ! by it. This had disappeared by this morning and I was able to add it to the Energy page, and it now shows a positive value for the microwave, whereas the original entry for the microwave still shows negative after removing yesterday's usage. I will do the same for the remining plugs.
