Is it possible to connect the new line of ikea smart products to an existing HA setup using the Skyconnect USB, or will you still need an Ikea Dirigera hub for this?

The Zigbee stuff from IKEA works with the SkyConnect/ZBT-1.

You'll have to say specifically which products you're interested in. As far as I know, all of their lighting and remotes remain zigbee and should work fine.

The ones that won't work with the Tradfri hub, only with the Dirigera. I would think it's because of Matter, but not sure.

This one for example doesn't work with the Tradfri hub. Only with the Dirigera hub. I'm thinking it might work with the Skyconnect as well, because of the Thread/Matter support of that USB

should work fine, still a zigbee device. probably the only reason they don't support it with the old hub is the energy monitoring feature.

#

(note that the energy monitoring might not be available in HA unless someone has written a zha quirk or z2m code to handle it)

But the energy monitoring feature is the feature i'm most interested in

#

So you're saying even with the Dirigera hub I might not be able to use the energy monitoring feature in HA, using the ikea integration? Or you mean only when I'm using the Skyconnect and zha or z2m?

you may have issue with monitoring power levels above 1000W until a quirk is added.
