My older 500 series stick stopped working. I tried rebooting and re-seating the usb stick and it is still dead. Sometimes it will connect but will not see any nodes. I have it running on a VM in windows. If I connect it to my linux machine it seems like it is recognized. I want to migrate and use a 800 stick that I have that was never used. I can't seem to find reliable info on moving to a new stick. Do I need to factory reset the switches one-by-one? Can I re-include them without resetting? Is there some magic that can upload to the new stick without including each device? I tried searching google but came up with mixed messages.
Thanks.

Which stick? Which firmware?
aotec gen5. how do I check the firmware?
When I connect it to my linux machine it is detected but still does not work. I installed a temp hass container and zwavejs-ui container and I get the same no nodes and all comms fail with the stick.
Z-Wave JS shows you if you open the controller details
zwavejs-ui screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/uvDJGAqaTEWo.png
zwave logs: https://pastebin.com/Avjbvbvd
Check driver logs
do you mean the controller statistics in the middle of the page? Its empty.
The screenshot looks like you're not connected
Thanks for this help I am not so good with this. Where are the driver logs?
I am getting the same thing on my hass that was working for years and now started to be blank like its not connected.
Check Z-Wave JS UI documentation
I'm dumb. I got it connected now, on the new machine. lets see if i can backup nvm
That should work with firmware 1.2
I got the nvm backup to work, now I am trying to get it to restore on the new 800 stick.
😦
