#Moving from RPi 4 to 5 8GB. What will await me?

Hello everybody. I am currently trying to get my home assistant as stable as possible. Right now I am running HA on a RPi4. The Rapid is using a SD card. I now plan to switch to running it on an SSD… but I also want to switch from ZHA to Zigbee2MQTT… so, I figured I could aswell do the full package and get a RPi 5 8GB so I probably won’t have to upgrade for a long time.

I wonder now if there is anything I can prepare in advance. Like, will I have to add all Zigbee devices again when moving to the new Raspberry? I am aware I have to add em all anyway when switching to zigbee2mqtt, but I really wouldn’t want to add em a third time when finally moving to the new Raspberry.

So, I wonder what I can do in preparation to all this.

Maybe somebody could share their learnings?
Thx in advance

Why a pi? #general-archived message
I'd only use the SSD. Skip the SD Cards entirely. If you insist on a pi I'd recommend using its M.2 slot with a NVMe SSD.

Using Pi5 8 gig with NVMe HAT here, works great
