Hey there,
I am planning using VPN to connect to my home network to not expose all services to the internet. AFAIK the GPS location is set to where the VPN is connected to, which would be bad, as I track the location to (de)activate the security system. How can I use VPN and tell android or at least the companion app to use the real GPS location?

GPS uses whatever google reports, if you use VPN and it interferes theres nothing the app can do but not sure where you heard that from as it does not sound right. Maybe what you read referenced the cell/wifi tower logic google services uses? Either way out of control in the app
