Hi I've recently moved into a new house and have been greated with an "ember" or "eph" heating system, from some use and some research it's pretty terrible in my opinion.

I was thinking of swapping it out for hive as I used this is my previous house but this house now has, downstairs, upstairs and hot water all controlled seperately. So that's a problem since hive don't do 3 channel receiver.

Now I was thinking do I swap to something else entirely? I'm not sure what, if anything uses a 3 channel receiver.

I've added images of what my current setup is so I can get something better to work?

Thanks

I was going to say you could take a look at Tado - it isn't three channel as such, but I use it with a wireless receiver upstairs for radiators and hot water and a wired receiver downstairs for underfloor heating. But I see you have a single controller so I can't think how that would work with a Tado setup.

I'm fairly sure Drayton Wiser have a three channel device and I've heard good things about them, but I don't have any first hand experience. There's definitely a home assistant integration though.

I've never heard of Drayton Wiser, I must look into it. I was thinking it's possible to have my existing hive two channel (heating for zone 1 and hot water) in place of the eph and then wire the second one directly into here somehow since this is where the actual valves are so I'm guessing under this cover is where it's all wired up?

Yeah, you've got your three zones on pins 3, 5 & 7 of your controller and those wires must go back to somewhere - but I'd be out of my depth wiring two hive units in to there

Yeah that's what I was thinking, replace the eph thing with my heating and hot water downstairs, then get a single channel hive heating and install it somewhere in this unit forgetting about the wires for that zone downstairs and therefore wiring directly in here

In the end I opted for the Drayton Wiser 3 channel. Gets great reviews and got a good black Friday deal!
