I have a Yolink sensor, in our mailbox. I have a helper toggle boolean. I want to create an automation based on motion that flags the toggle on, create a condition card showing up in the dashboard saying "Mail arrived", which stays flagged until it gets trigger again(but the person getting the mail some time later).

My question is, do I create a reset every day to ensure the state is correct. Add a wait time between the triggers to prevent it being put into a weird state.

Anyone have anything similar they could share?

I have an automation that runs daily at 2am to reset any booleans I need to reset.

You could do all of this in one automation by using a choose action and trigger ids for each of your “when” options. Basically something like this:
